For The Love Of Tags #1

First I must tell you that I'm a huge fan of Tim Holtz and all that he creates. When the first set of his Christmas tags came out I was instantly in love and have been doing tags ever since.
I had to come up with 3 new tags and a tag holder for a class that I just taught yesterday for a LSS. This is the first tag that I created and used a stamp as inspiration. The candy canes are made from Fimo clay. the sock was embossed using a folder from Stampin Up ( i think it's called lattice) and Flower soft was applied to the cuff of the sock to make it fuzzy. Holly was hand cut from Grunge paper and a bit of stickles added along with some pearl berries.

A Christmas Poinsettia

For those of you who like to use Spellbinders, here's one for you. I used red vellum and embossed them using my stylus. I cut two of the largest dies, one medium and one small for the flower parts. I poked o hole in the center of the small and medium dies so I could put the stamens through and adhere them in place. I used foam dots to layer the vellum to give it dimension. Be careful with the placement of your foam as it will show through the vellum, I put it where the vellum's overlapped just in from the edge of the petals. I then cut one large die from green and cut the petals apart and tucked them in under the red for some leaves. The lattice punch is from EK. I made this card for a LSS to show a use for red vellum.

When using your stylus on vellum I used a foam stamp pad underneath and applied light pressure at first and increased it until I found the ripping point of the vellum. Practice on a scrap piece first till you get the feel of it.

A Sock Filled with Sweets

This was card was made for a LSS to showcase the stamp. I won't lie to you it took a bit of time to put it together as I had to stamp it six different times to get the colours and layers. The punch used to fancey up the edge is by Stampin Up.
